What drives her: “I believe that to whom much is given much is expected. I have been given a great deal in life, and because of that I am driven to give back to others with the hopes that they too can find happiness and success.”

An interesting fact about Bettis: She hopes one day to create a scholarship in honor of her brother, Christopher M. Bettis, to support Drake University Law School students who desire to become public defenders. “I believe public defenders, like my brother, do some of the most important work in our entire society.”
