Tell us four of your proudest accomplishments or accolades.
I joined Prairie Meadows in 2019 and quickly advanced from database analyst to director of marketing in just four years.
I played a key role in leading Prairie Meadows to its strongest fiscal year in 2023, while also setting a record for charitable giving.
I serve as a director on the Adelante Corp. board, leveraging my expertise in alumni relations and budget management to help shape the next generation of professionals.
I co-founded a GPS tracking company for the commercial trucking industry in response to the 2016 mandate for digital hours of service, gaining valuable insights into business operations across various sectors.
What's your biggest passion, and why?
My passion lies in positively affecting my community through work, volunteerism and personal goals. Prairie Meadows' mission to give back, alongside partnerships with Polk County and Central Iowa organizations, allows us to enhance lives and create meaningful change.
How do you define success, both personally and professionally?
Success, for me, is defined by growth, impact and integrity. Professionally, leading Prairie Meadows and contributing to the community through initiatives like Veterans Day is rewarding. Personally, success means living authentically, prioritizing family and staying aligned with my core values.
Tell us about an issue you think more people should know about.
Alzheimer’s disease is a growing global health crisis, affecting millions and placing immense emotional and financial burdens on families. Awareness, early diagnosis and support for caregivers are crucial. Increased research and public funding can help improve treatments and eventually find a cure for this devastating disease.
What's an experience or memory that influenced how you saw the world or what you wanted to do in life?
During the Prairie Meadows University program, working with Scott Raecker, executive director of the Robert D. and Billie Ray Center at Drake University, to develop my personal touchstones was transformative. Crafting my mission statement around family, integrity, community and legacy solidified my commitment to live authentically and intentionally, shaping how I approach every relationship and opportunity with accountability and purpose.
What are your aspirations for the future?
I aspire to launch an initiative focused on mental health awareness and support, particularly for underserved communities. I want to create a lasting impact by fostering open conversations and providing resources that help individuals heal and thrive, ensuring future generations have access to the care they need.
What's one piece of advice you'd give to a young professional?
Focus on building relationships, not just tasks. Cultivate a network of mentors, peers and collaborators. Success often comes from who you know and how you work with others. Always seek to learn, grow and contribute to the bigger picture.
What's one regular habit that's made you successful?
I consistently go above and beyond, ensuring every decision is grounded in careful analysis. This approach enables me to take calculated actions that drive success and growth, empowering me to stay ahead and achieve meaningful impact in my work and personal development.
What is one thing you would like to see Central Iowa leaders address, and why?
I would like to see Central Iowa leaders focus on expanding affordable housing initiatives. As the region grows, many residents face rising housing costs, which can lead to displacement and increased inequality. By prioritizing affordable housing, leaders can ensure equitable access to housing for all residents, fostering a stronger and more inclusive community. This would also support economic stability and improve quality of life for many families.
What's one fun fact about you?
I love to cook and grill. My wife and I enter grilling competitions.
Hobbies:
Grilling competitions, golfing and snowboarding.
What is one word that best describes you?

What’s the funniest or most surprising thing that’s happened to you recently?
A couple weeks ago, we were cruising to Ankeny when we passed the pond in front of the Waterfront Seafood Market restaurant, and my 2-year-old daughter spotted some geese. She started screaming, “GOOSE!” and frantically pointing. Naturally, we had to pull over so she could personally greet them with a smile and a wave.
What’s your favorite tradition to participate in locally?
